Ngư Phủ (Ngư Phủ) is a place where you can taste chả cá (Chả Cá), a specialty of Hanoi in northern Vietnam, right here in Da Nang. As the “Chả Cá Hà Nội” in its name suggests, Hanoi-style chả cá is its signature.
What kind of dish is chả cá?
Chả cá is a traditional Hanoi dish in which white fish, marinated with turmeric, dill and other aromatics, is grilled (or pan-fried). It is typically finished at the table, tossed with plenty of dill and spring onion, and eaten together with bún (rice noodles), peanuts and fresh herbs. The savory aroma of the fish and the freshness of the herbs layer together into a dish with real depth.
A plate that introduces northern food culture
The appeal of this place is the chance to experience a distinctly northern fish dish, different again from phở or bánh xèo. As of July 2026 it holds a steady rating on Google, making it a good option when you want to try a Vietnamese dish out of the ordinary.
A note before you go
Plenty of herbs such as dill are a hallmark of chả cá. Enjoy the fragrance of the herbs and try different combinations together with the noodles and condiments.
Personally, I find it a delightful discovery to encounter the flavors of northern Hanoi while I’m in Da Nang.
